Description
Maintaining the hotel's physical infrastructure and grounds ensures a clean and appealing environment. Performs routine repairs, landscaping tasks, and preventive maintenance. Cares for green spaces, pathways, and outdoor amenities. Responds to maintenance requests, operates tools and equipment safely, and collaborates with the maintenance team on larger projects. Requires practical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of basic landscaping and repair techniques.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Landscaping Maintenance: Mow lawns, trim shrubs, prune trees, and maintain flower beds to ensure a neat and appealing landscape.
- Irrigation System Management: Monitor and adjust the irrigation system to provide adequate water to plants and lawns.
- Weed Control: Identify and remove weeds from garden areas and pathways to maintain a clean appearance.
- Pest Control: Monitor for pests and take appropriate measures to control their presence in the outdoor areas.
- Seasonal Planting: Plant and cultivate seasonal flowers, plants, and ornamental items to enhance the landscape.
- Outdoor Furniture Maintenance: Clean and maintain outdoor furniture, including benches and tables, to ensure they are in good condition for guests' use.
- Trash Removal: Collect and dispose of trash and debris from outdoor areas to maintain cleanliness.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and care for landscaping tools and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of outdoor areas for potential hazards and take corrective actions as needed.
- Assist with Special Projects: Assist with outdoor event setups, holiday decorations, and other special projects.
Qualifications Required
- Landscaping Experience: Previous experience in landscaping or groundskeeping is preferred.
- Plant Knowledge: Familiarity with various plant types, their care requirements, and seasonal planting practices.
- Basic Maintenance Skills: Understanding of basic maintenance tasks and the ability to use landscaping tools and equipment.
- Physical Fitness: Good physical health and stamina to perform outdoor tasks, including lifting, bending, and repetitive movements.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure precision in landscaping and grounds maintenance.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet maintenance schedules.
- Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with other maintenance staff and work as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Stamina: The ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy bags of soil or pushing lawn mowers for extended periods.
- Strength: Sufficient physical strength to handle landscaping tools and equipment, as well as move heavy objects.
- Mobility: The capability to move freely and comfortably on different terrains and outdoor surfaces.
- Flexibility: The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods during outdoor maintenance activities.
- Visual Acuity: Good vision to identify potential landscaping issues and ensure precision in pruning and planting.
