IT Specialist

Description

The IT Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel’s digital infrastructure, supporting hardware and software systems, assisting hotel staff with technology issues, and maintaining reliable internet and audiovisual services for guests and internal teams. This role requires strong technical problem-solving skills and a proactive system maintenance and technology management approach.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update hardware and software systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of computers, servers, and mobile devices.
  • Identify and report damaged equipment or cables; coordinate repairs or replacements.
  • Execute clean and organized wiring setups for power and Ethernet systems.
  • Crimp and install Ethernet cables with precision and safety standards.
  • Provide prompt technical support to staff for IT-related queries.
  • Monitor and ensure consistent internet and television services for guests and staff.
  • Partner with external IT contractors for complex troubleshooting and technical upgrades.
  • Organize and manage the hotel’s entire technology environment for peak efficiency.
  • Collaborate with management and hotel teams to address ongoing IT needs.
  • Perform other tasks assigned within the scope of the IT department.

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT support or systems maintenance, preferably in hospitality.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, networks, and operating systems.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling and low-voltage installation.
  • Experience working with both Mac and Windows-based systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues efficiently.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move computer hardware and other related equipment.
  • Comfortable working in small or enclosed spaces (e.g., cable runs, server closets).
  • Willingness to perform hands-on tasks that may require bending, reaching, or standing for long periods.
  • Able to respond to urgent technical issues during business hours.
