The Groundsman/Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s grounds, facilities, and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment for guests and staff. This role includes routine maintenance, landscaping, minor repairs, and responding to urgent issues that arise. The successful candidate must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in both indoor and outdoor conditions to uphold the hotel’s high standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, and minor carpentry.
Ensure the hotel’s outdoor areas, including gardens, walkways, and parking lots, are clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
Regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment are conducted to identify and address issues promptly.
Respond to maintenance requests from staff or guests promptly.
Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers to maintain lawns and hedges.
Maintain pool cleanliness and chemical levels according to safety standards.
Assist with setting up for events, including furniture arrangement and light repairs.
Comply with all safety regulations and procedures while using tools and equipment.
Coordinate with external contractors when necessary and supervise their work to ensure quality standards are met.
Qualifications Required
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.
Familiarity with landscaping tools and maintenance techniques.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Good communication skills to interact with staff, management, and contractors.
Experience:
Prior experience in groundskeeping, general maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
